Doughnut Part 3
Time to make the icing!
After many tried and failed attempts to get to this point, in which I’ve redone my doughnut 3 times from start to finish, I finally understand more hot keys due to all the amount of practice I’ve given myself. I’ve made many simple mistakes and only on the third try have I learned the “undo” function which is the good ol “command + Z” hot key.
In my opinion and as a designer this is my favorite function. Things always go wrong in design so being able to undo anything should be the first key to learn no matter what program you’re working with. Take it from me, I could have saved about an hour of struggling with creating this icing.
My absolute favorite function of any design program hands down.
The Blender Guru has so many necessary tips along the way that made this process seamless, if only I had followed them perfectly. He gives the audience so much information about 3D creating that I would never have considered had I started this journey on my own.
Guru really knows his stuff and is a great teacher for any level of design that you’re at. From beginner to advanced levels of design there are tips and tricks we could all use when learning a new way to think about a concept we are trying to create.
In designing concepts, designers don’t just create art or functional designs for users. We learn a design way of thinking in order to communicate our thoughts effectively. Understanding the program is one piece of the design thinking puzzle. Then tackling how we wish to utilize our design so we can connect in a way that the user understands our message. I believe it can be a powerful language if we understand it, communicate it, and utilize it ethically.
